After seven years of research and writing, including visits to countless archives, battlefields, and places, I was thrilled when Random House published American Ulysses on October 4, 2016. I am so grateful for all the warm responses I have received and the stories I have been able to share during the past three months of a national book tour. Along the way I have visited old friends, met new ones, and met special people such as General (Ret) David Petraeus and CPAN’s Brian Lamb, to name just two.
